US Stocks Close Higher Led by Gains in Key Sectors
US stocks closed higher on Friday as gains in key sectors propelled shares upward.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.49%, led by Cisco Systems Inc, which surged 3.56% or $3.86 to $112.20.
Caterpillar Inc added 2.31% or $19.07 to end at $845.42 and Unitedhealth Group was up 1.83% or $6.67 to $371.87 in late trade.
However, Nike Inc fell 3.64% or $1.28 to trade at $33.87 at the close, while International Business Machines declined 1.32% or $2.98 to end at $222.64 and Amgen Inc was down 1.06% or $4.30 to $402.97.
The S&P 500's top performers included Teradyne Inc, which rose 7.98% to $448.95, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co, up 7.36% to settle at $69.33 and ON Semiconductor Corporation, gaining 6.01% to close at $84.89.
The NASDAQ Composite's top performers were Alpha Modus Holdings Inc, which rose 198.29% to $3.49, Armada Acquisition Corp II, up 68.25% to settle at $39.42 and Flux Power Holdings Inc, gaining 57.40% to close at $0.64.
The worst performers were Western Digital Corporation, down 10.22% to $415.29 in late trade, Seagate Technology PLC, which lost 10.21% to settle at $848.99 and Accenture plc, down 6.29% to $198.94 at the close.
