US Stocks Close Lower Amid Wide-Sweeping Market Fluctuations
US stocks closed lower on Tuesday as losses in key sectors weighed on markets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.63%, while the S&P 500 index dropped 0.45% and the NASDAQ Composite lost 0.78%. Chevron Corp led gainers, rising 2.64% to $217.77.
Nike Inc, Amazon.com, and Walt Disney Company were among the top decliners, down 2.24%, 2.02%, and 2.00% respectively. The CBOE Volatility Index rose 0.64% to 17.21, while Gold Futures for December delivery fell 0.39% to $4,334.72 a troy ounce.
The worst performers on the NASDAQ Composite were ReTo Eco-Solutions Inc, Veea Inc, and DataMeds AI Inc, which surged 676.27%, 149.35%, and 83.69% respectively, in a day of wild fluctuations. Meanwhile, ENvue Medical Inc, Huachen AI Parking Management Technology Holding Co Ltd, and Cheetah Net Supply Chain Service Inc plummeted to all-time lows.
