US Stocks Dip Amid Sector-Wide Losses
US stocks closed lower on Tuesday as losses in key sectors weighed on the market.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.79% while the S&P 500 declined 0.71%, and the NASDAQ Composite lost 1.03%.
Among the top performers, Apple Inc led with a 2.61% gain to $325.13 per share, followed by Chevron Corp which added 2.38% to close at $211.05, and Johnson & Johnson which rose 2.07% to end at $271.36.
On the other hand, Sherwin-Williams Co dropped 2.62% to $329.95 per share, Home Depot Inc declined by 2.46% to $319.77, and Caterpillar Inc fell 2.30% to $779.16.
