US Stocks Plummet as Dow Falls Nearly 1%
US equities closed lower on Tuesday, driven by losses in key sectors including Industrials, Consumer Goods, and Basic Materials. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.79%, while the S&P 500 index lost 0.71%, and the NASDAQ Composite plummeted 1.03%.
The biggest gainers on the Dow included Apple Inc., which rose 2.61% to $325.13, Chevron Corp. added 2.38% to reach $211.05, and Johnson & Johnson was up 2.07% at $271.36.
On the other hand, Sherwin-Williams Co. led the losers with a decline of 2.62% to $329.95, followed by Home Depot Inc., which fell 2.46% to $319.77, and Caterpillar Inc., down 2.30% at $779.16.
The NASDAQ Composite's top performers included NewGenIvf Group Ltd., up 195.75% to $1.33, Sono Group NV rose 77.43% to settle at $4.76, and FlyE Group Inc. gained 61.76% to close at $2.20.
