US Stocks Rise Amid Gains in Tech, Materials Sectors
U.S. stocks ended Thursday's session on a high note, with gains in the Technology, Utilities, and Basic Materials sectors leading the charge.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.62%, while the S&P 500 climbed 1.14% and the NASDAQ Composite added 1.69% at the close of trade.
NVIDIA Corporation was one of the top performers on the Dow, with a 2.54% gain to $219.34 per share. Cisco Systems Inc and Amazon.com Inc also rose by 2.32% and 2.13%, respectively.
On the flip side, Salesforce Inc fell 3.07% to $242.85, while Verizon Communications Inc declined 2.87% to $48.33.
