US Stocks Rise, Dow Gains Over 100 Points Amid Sectoral Shifts
The US stock market saw a positive start to Tuesday, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 100 points. The Dow traded up 0.24% to 52,171.55, while the NASDAQ climbed 0.39% to 27,228.76 and the S&P 500 rose by 0.18% to 7,778.83.
Communication services shares led the way with a 1.1% gain on Tuesday, in contrast to energy stocks which fell by 1.3%. Top gainers included companies like Lianhe Sowell International Group Ltd (NASDAQ:LHSW) and Decoy Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:DCOY), whose shares surged 159% and 135%, respectively.
However, not all companies fared well, as Hub Cyber Security Ltd (NASDAQ:HUBC) dropped 36% to $3.86 after jumping 30% on Monday, while Compass Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:CMPX) was down by 30%. Black Titan Corp (NASDAQ:BTTC) also saw a decline of 25%.
Looking at commodities, oil traded down 2.4% to $93.51, while gold and silver fell by 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively. Copper was an exception, rising 1.3% to $6.8480.
