US Stocks Set for Bullish Start to October as Oil Prices Soar
The US stock market is expected to have a positive trading day on Friday, October 2. The futures for S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq are up, driven by hopes of a strong non-farm payrolls data release.
The price of Brent crude oil has jumped 4.4% to $102.31 per barrel, adding uncertainty about the global oil industry's return to normalcy due to the war with Iran.
On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 20.51 points, or 0.04%, to 50,926.56, while the S&P 500 increased by 14.91 points, or 0.19%, to 7,666.45.
The Nasdaq Composite also saw a rise of 10.53 points, or 0.04%, to 26,871.60. Stocks benefiting from artificial-intelligence technology, such as Micron Technology and Nvidia, helped lead the way in the market.
