USA TODAY Antitrust Case Against Google Moves Forward
USA TODAY Co., Inc.'s antitrust case against Google remains in play after a court ruling on October 2, 2026. The company's claims against Google were largely left intact by the judge, who found that USA TODAY had presented sufficient evidence for a reasonable jury to decide several key issues. These include allegations related to advertising technology, international damages, and unjust enrichment.
The decision does not mean that USA TODAY has proven its allegations against Google. Instead, it allows the case to proceed toward a potential trial. Investors are keeping an eye on the situation, with Citizens maintaining a Market Outperform rating and raising their price target for USA TODAY stock from $8.00 to $10.00.
USA TODAY's second-quarter 2026 revenue fell by 8.3% year-over-year to $536.3 million. Digital revenue accounted for 47.4% of total revenue, while digital advertising revenue was $79.8 million. Despite this decline, the company still managed to post net income of $9.1 million and adjusted EBITDA of $56.9 million.
