USAF Deploys First F-15EX to Kadena Amid Force Posture Rebuild

The US Air Force (USAF) has confirmed that its first Boeing F-15EX Eagle II fighter aircraft will be deployed to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan by the end of 2026.

A batch of 36 F-15EXs is planned to replace older fourth-generation US aircraft based in Japan as part of a force posture plan announced in 2024.

The first F-15EX, EX-22, was delivered to the USAF in September 2026 and has been sent to Portland Air National Guard Base in Oregon for additional preparations before its eventual movement to Kadena.
