User Loses $1.6M in Crypto After Phishing Scam on Google Search Results

A user named David reported losing his cryptocurrency savings due to phishing on Google's search results. He was searching for information about the Trezor wallet when a fake page appeared at the top of the list, hosted on Google Sites. The page requested his seed phrase, which is a critical piece of information that grants access to a digital wallet.

David claimed that he entered the seed phrase, allowing an attacker to gain control over his funds. The attacker then transferred approximately 24 BTC (worth over $1.6 million) in 80 separate transactions to another address.

Trezor issued a statement urging users not to enter their seed phrases on any website or through online forms, as this can compromise the security of their wallets. They also stated that they are working to have the fake page removed from Google's search results.
