Coca-Cola Blocks Controversial Messages on Cans and Bottles
Coca-Cola has temporarily suspended its online personalization service after users discovered it was blocking certain messages on beverage cans and bottles. The system, which allows customers to add short messages of up to 18 characters, had been rejecting phrases such as 'Jesus is Lord' and 'Free Palestine', while allowing other controversial messages.
An investigation by Fox News Digital found that the filter was not applied consistently, with some users reporting that ordinary words were rejected, while others with more provocative language were allowed through.
Coca-Cola attributed the issue to a technical problem and said that the system had been temporarily suspended for review. The company stated that messages printed on cans or bottles undergo additional moderation before an order is confirmed.
