Utah Resident Shari Bennett Passes Away at Age 82
Sharia 'Shari' Bennett, a devoted mother and wife from Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on September 22nd, 2026 at the age of 82. Born on June 6th, 1944 in Twin Falls, Idaho, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Leila Smith Balis.
Bennett attended Montana State College and the University of Utah before starting a career with Mountain Fuel Supply Company. In 1972, she married W. Don Bennett, with whom she had two children, Staci Poppleton and Bryson Bennett.
A member of Cottonwood Presbyterian Church for many years, Bennett worked as its office manager and served on several committees, including being a Deacon. She also spent time traveling the world with her loved ones, visiting China, the Amazon, Machu Picchu, and Spain.
