Utah Woman Shari Bennett Dies at 82, Leaves Behind Family and Legacy
Shari Balis Bennett was born on June 6, 1944, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She spent her life traveling, raising a family, and working as an office manager at American Express Financial Advisors and Cottonwood Presbyterian Church.
Bennett graduated from Olympus High School and attended Montana State College and the University of Utah before starting her career. In 1972, she married W. Don Bennett, with whom she had two children, Staci Poppleton and Bryson Bennett.
A long-time member of Cottonwood Presbyterian Church, Bennett served as a Deacon and was involved in various committees throughout her life. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting China, the Amazon, Machu Picchu, and Spain.
Bennett passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 82. A memorial service will be held on October 17th at Larkin Mortuary in Salt Lake City, followed by a gathering to celebrate her life.
