Vance Warns Corporations Against Using 'Cheap' Foreign Labor

Vice President JD Vance is warning corporations against replacing American workers with foreign labor through the H-1B visa program. He took to X on Thursday, stating 'Our message to corporate America is simple: We’re not going to let you lay off American workers so you can replace them with cheap foreign labor.'

Vance has previously criticized tech companies for laying off domestic workers while seeking more H-1B visas for foreign workers. In July 2025, he slammed Microsoft Corp. and other tech companies for this practice.

The Vice President's views come amid a series of executive orders from President Donald Trump on the issue. Last week, the administration extended restrictions on the H-1B visa program through Sept. 21, 2027, including a $100,000 fee to be paid by employers for H-1B workers outside the U.S. seeking entry.
