Verret Shipyard Delivers New Pusher Tug to Parker Towing Company

Parker Towing Company of Tuscaloosa, Alabama has taken delivery of a new pusher tug called Callaway Parker from Verret Shipyard in Plaquemine, Louisiana. The vessel was delivered in March 2025 and is designed to support the company's liquid cargo transport activities on the Black Warrior and Warrior-Tombigbee rivers.

The Callaway Parker has a gross tonnage of 313 and a net tonnage of 257, with a length overall of 86 feet (26 meters) and a beam of 30 feet (9.1 meters). It is powered by two Caterpillar C32A main engines that each produce 1,000 hp at 1,800 rpm.

The vessel has a comprehensive electronics suite, including Furuno radars, VHF radios, and an Eagle Controls monitoring system. The interior of the boat features four staterooms for a crew of seven, with two baths and showers, and a sanitation system that can accommodate up to 12 people.
