Vertical Aerospace Taps Airbus Veteran to Drive eVTOL and Defence Growth
Vertical Aerospace has appointed Fabrice Brégier as chair and director to drive its eVTOL and defence strategy. The former Airbus Commercial Aircraft chief executive brings over three decades of experience in complex aircraft programs, AI-driven defence technology, and international growth. His appointment is effective September 21, 2026.
Vertical Aerospace is developing the Valo platform, a zero-emission eVTOL aircraft, and hybrid-electric variants for advanced air mobility markets. The company has partnered with major aerospace suppliers like Honeywell Aerospace and Near Earth Autonomy to accelerate its commercialization and certification process.
The appointment of Brégier marks a significant governance shift as Vertical Aerospace accelerates its defence strategy, including recent interest from the UK Ministry of Defence. His background in leading complex aircraft programs and major defence integrations is expected to drive the company's growth and expansion into global aerospace markets.
