The aircraft became airborne despite overrunning the runway before returning safely to Germany.

The incident involved Vietnam Airlines flight VN34 from Munich Airport (MUC) to Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi (HAN).

The crew began the takeoff roll on Munich Airport's Runway 26L, which measures approximately 4,000 meters (13,123 feet), but instead of rotating at the expected point, the aircraft continued accelerating almost to the end of the runway.
