Vietnam Seeks Stronger Ties with JPMorganChase and Visa for Digital Transformation
At a meeting in New York on September 23, Vietnam's top leader, General Secretary and President To Lam, sought stronger cooperation with JPMorganChase and Visa to support the country's socio-economic development. The General Secretary praised JPMorganChase's reputation and contributions over the years in advising the Vietnamese government and businesses on raising capital in international markets.
Troy Rohrbaugh, Co-President of JPMorganChase, expressed his impression of Vietnam's achievements and desire to continue cooperating with, investing in, and supporting Vietnamese partners. He stated that the international investment community values Vietnam's macro-economic stability and long-term growth potential.
The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam is pursuing ambitious growth targets and implementing key projects in infrastructure, energy, and digital transformation. He asked JPMorganChase to support the country in strengthening links with the international financial and investment community, helping attract high-quality capital flows into Vietnam.
Separately, at a meeting with Robert Thomson, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Government Affairs at Visa Inc., General Secretary and President Lam welcomed Visa's engagement with the Vietnamese market over 30 years. He said the two sides have a strong foundation to build larger-scale digital payment ecosystems in the new phase.
