Virginia Man Accused of Murdering Wife After Plotting Her Death
Roger Bradford, a 60-year-old man from Virginia, is facing charges of first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for allegedly killing his wife, Lisa Bradford, 54. The incident occurred on September 22 at their home in Aldie, Virginia.
Court documents suggest that Bradford had planned to kill his wife as their marriage was coming to an end. On the day of the alleged killing, he stopped at a storage facility to pick up .45-caliber ammunition and then bought 36-inch zip ties at a Home Depot in South Riding, Virginia.
Bradford allegedly shot and killed Lisa Bradford after returning home from his errands. He later called a relative and apologized for the crime, stating that he was going to kill himself and asking them to pick up their daughter so she wouldn't come home to find her mother dead.
A multistate search ensued, and Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bradford at around 3:15 p.m. After his arrest, investigators found a journal in the rental car that contained a list of possible targets, with Lisa Bradford's name at the top and a declaration that she was to be killed on September 22.
