Virginia Sharma Leads Salesforce's Missionforce as New Chief Marketing Officer
Virginia Sharma has been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer of Salesforce's Missionforce, leading the global public sector marketing team from McLean, Virginia.
Sharma brings over 25 years of experience in selling technology to key decision-makers around the world. Before joining Salesforce, she was head of brand and product marketing at Google Public Sector from January 2024, where her team designed integrated campaigns for Cloud, Workspace, and AI.
Her previous roles include head of marketing for Google Cloud India from March 2022, vice-president of brand solutions at JioSaavn from May 2020 to January 2022, sales director for marketing solutions in India at LinkedIn from April 2016 to April 2020, and various positions at IBM spanning 15 years.
Sharma has won numerous awards for her work, including the 'Marketing Professional of the Year' award in 2001 for a programme targeting 'net gen' start-ups during the first dotcom boom. She is also an independent director on the board of Pennar Industries Limited and sits on the global advisory board of the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.
