Visa Acquires BioCatch for $2.4 Billion Amid Growing Focus on Fraud Prevention
Visa Inc. (NYSE:V) is pushing further into fraud prevention after announcing an agreement to acquire BioCatch, a Tel Aviv-based provider of behavioral and device intelligence, for $2.4 billion in cash.
The deal is expected to close by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
Visa said the acquisition will help its clients stop fraud before it reaches the point of payment by analyzing signals such as keystrokes, touch gestures and device handling.
In its latest quarterly results, Visa reported a 14% year-on-year increase in GAAP net revenue to $11.6 billion, with net income rising 10% to $5.6 billion.
