Visa Acquires BioCatch for $2.4 Billion Cybersecurity Boost
Visa is acquiring BioCatch, a fraud intelligence provider, for $2.4 billion in cash to bolster its cybersecurity offerings.
The deal will help Visa's clients protect themselves from increasingly complex threats, particularly account takeovers and scams that cost the global economy over $1 trillion annually.
BioCatch analyzes signals such as keystrokes, touch gestures, and device handling to detect fraud and distinguish legitimate users from fraudsters in real-time.
Under its previous ownership by Permira, BioCatch's revenue and gross profit grew roughly threefold. The deal is expected to close by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter of 2027.
