FAA Clears Boeing's MAX-7 Aircraft After Decade-Long Review

The Federal Aviation Administration has certified Boeing's 737 MAX-7 aircraft after nearly a decade-long review process.

The certification clears the way for airlines to begin taking deliveries of the jet, which is designed for shorter routes and lighter loads.

Southwest Airlines is the launch customer with the largest order for the aircraft.

The FAA's sign-off follows a review that grew in scope after two fatal crashes involving the MAX 8 in 2018 and 2019 killed 346 people, grounding the entire MAX fleet worldwide for nearly two years.
