Two companies have recently announced significant dividend increases, making them attractive options for income-focused investors. Visa (NYSE: V) raised its quarterly cash dividend by 16%, bringing it to $0.78 per share. While the dividend yield of 0.76% is modest, the company's strong financials suggest ample room for future growth. Visa generated $3.19 in diluted earnings per share in the third quarter, with a payout ratio of roughly 24%. The company also produced about $22 billion in free cash flow during its 2026 fiscal year, leaving plenty of capacity to increase dividends further.

Visa's dominance in the payments industry, with nearly $15.5 trillion in total payment volume in fiscal 2026, underscores its durability. Despite concerns about artificial intelligence and stablecoins, Visa has historically adapted to disruptors by partnering with or acquiring them. The company's ability to navigate challenges positions it as a stable long-term investment.

Interactive Brokers Group (NASDAQ: IBKR) also boosted its quarterly dividend by 71%, raising it from $0.0875 to $0.15 per share. The dividend yield stands at 0.72%, but similar to Visa, there is significant potential for growth. Diluted earnings per share at Interactive Brokers in the third quarter were $0.69, more than four times the current quarterly dividend. The company has benefited from increased trading activity since the COVID-19 pandemic, with total accounts growing 35% year over year to over 5.5 million.

Interactive Brokers offers a wide range of financial products and a user-friendly interface, contributing to its strong global presence. While the stock has surged nearly 370% over the past five years, its earnings may be more volatile due to dependence on trading activity. However, this volatility also presents greater upside potential compared to Visa's more stable revenue streams.
