Visa Defies Retail Selloff with Healthy Transaction Growth
Visa's stock price jumped approximately 1.6% to $371.51 on Friday, leaving it less than 1% below its 52-week high of $373.51. The payments giant's transaction activity remains healthy despite a recent retail selloff led by Walmart.
Fiscal third-quarter revenue climbed 14% to $11.6 billion, while adjusted net income hit $6.3 billion. Payments volume rose 10%, and processed transactions jumped 10% to 71.7 billion. Cross-border volume excluding Europe advanced 12% as international travel and commerce kept Visa's network humming.
Visa's growth engine is still firing, but the stock sits at a valuation near 32 times trailing earnings, leaving little room for slowing volumes or tighter regulation. The GF Value estimate puts the stock at $421.70, which means it's currently 11.9% below its estimated value.
