Visa V has agreed to acquire BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash, expanding its cybersecurity services as financial institutions face increasingly sophisticated attacks.

The deal, which is expected to close by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter of 2027, targets account takeovers and scams that cost the global economy more than $1 trillion annually.

BioCatch uses behavioral biometrics to distinguish legitimate customers from fraudsters in real time, analyzing signals such as keystrokes, touch gestures, and device handling.

The company serves over 350 banking clients across 21 countries and protects approximately 1.8 billion devices and 760 million users.
