Visa Shares Fall as AI-Driven Cyberthreats Escalate
Visa's shares have been trading at $358.74 as of 1pm ET on October 1, after the company warned about the escalating threat of AI-driven cyberattacks on payment networks.
The attackers can now use artificial intelligence to accelerate exploitation and put pressure on networks to identify problems, fix them, and confirm those fixes work quickly.
Visa's open-source framework aims to tackle this entire chain by mapping code, coordinating multiple AI models, ranking vulnerabilities, and supporting repairs.
However, human specialists still review findings, assess severity, and determine remediation paths before changes are made to avoid a rushed fix that could disrupt payments and create another expensive problem.
