Visa Shells Out $2.4 Billion for BioCatch Cybersecurity Deal
Visa has announced its latest move to bolster cybersecurity offerings by acquiring fraud intelligence provider BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash.
The deal is expected to close by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter of 2027 and will further enhance the card giant's existing cyber, fraud, risk, and security capabilities.
BioCatch helps detect fraud and distinguish legitimate users from fraudsters in real-time by analyzing signals such as keystrokes, touch gestures, and device handling.
With BioCatch on board, Visa aims to help clients better protect themselves against increasingly complex threats, which cost the global economy over $1 trillion annually according to Andrew Torre, president of value-added services at Visa.
