Visa Stock Breaks New High Despite Higher Multiple
Visa's stock has reached a new record high after surpassing its June 2025 peak, and despite the higher multiple, the company's ecosystem is strengthening. The global payment leader's fiscal third-quarter revenue increased by 14% to $11.6 billion, with quarterly payment volume crossing $4 trillion for the first time and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $3.32 beating the $3.23 consensus.
CEO Ryan McInerney stated that consumer and business spending 'remains resilient,' while management expects another double-digit finish in Q4. Visa's bull run has substance, according to an analyst, who believes the company's resumed momentum has a solid foundation after a rather uneven period for card networks.
The analyst points out that Visa does not lend consumers money but earns a small fee for processing payments between banks and merchants. Renewed confidence in the stock is driven by broad strength in credit, debit, and discretionary spending, as well as Pershing Square's newly disclosed stake in the business.
