Visa Stock Rises 1.6% Amid Expansion into AI-Driven Commerce
Visa's stock price rose by 1.6% during mid-day trading on Tuesday, reaching as high as $365.91 and closing at $364.55. The company traded a total of 6.8 million shares, which is a decline of 14% from its average daily volume.
The recent growth in Visa's stock price can be attributed to several positive developments. One such development is the company's participation in Rain's Agentic Payments Alliance alongside Mastercard, Fiserv, Circle, Solana, and Remitly. This alliance aims to establish standards for 'agentic commerce,' where artificial-intelligence systems make payments on behalf of users.
Visa has also seen a growth in its AI opportunity through the expansion of cross-border transfers and stablecoin applications. Additionally, billionaire investor Bill Ackman disclosed Visa as one of his new holdings, which could potentially improve investor confidence in the company's long-term growth and valuation.
The firm has received positive ratings from various brokerages, including Evercore, Erste Group Bank, UBS Group, Piper Sandler, and Raymond James Financial. These analysts have set price targets ranging from $350 to $430 for Visa's stock.
