Visa's (V) stock surged by 5% after-hours following the release of its Q2 earnings report, which exceeded analyst expectations. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.31, surpassing estimates of $3.10.

The payment volume and processed transactions rose 9%, while revenue jumped 17% to $11.23 billion in Q2, the largest increase since 2022. Visa also raised its full-year revenue outlook.

Visa's CEO Ryan McInerney attributed the strong performance to 'consumer spending remaining resilient' and the company's strategy and innovations fueling growth in consumer payments and commercial solutions.

The company's management authorized a $20 billion share repurchase program, while declaring a quarterly cash dividend of $0.670 per share payable on June 1, 2026.
