Visa Tests AI Shopping with OpenAI Partnership

Visa is testing the waters for artificial intelligence shopping, embedding its payment network into OpenAI's ChatGPT. The chatbot can now independently shop and complete transactions on behalf of human users.

This move follows Visa's previous attempt at A.I.-enabled shopping, called 'Instant Checkout,' which was shut down in March after experiencing errors. This time around, Visa aims to ensure that A.I. agents can recommend products and complete purchases without human involvement at any merchant accepting its credit cards.

V stock has declined 14% over the last year, trading at $322.96 per share.
