Visa Unveils AI-Powered Cybersecurity Tool Amid Growing Threats
Visa has opened its defensive tooling in response to concerns that human-speed cybersecurity may not match autonomous attacks. The company has open-sourced part of its AI-driven vulnerability-defense system, which includes a model-agnostic harness that automates discovery, remediation, and validation while retaining human review.
The Vulnerability Agentic Harness maps software, identifies and ranks weaknesses, recommends fixes, and checks whether those changes work. Human review remains a checkpoint before findings or patches move forward. According to Visa, an early update developed with Anthropic's assistance found more than 10,000 high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities in its first month.
The real test is how quickly teams can turn those findings into verified fixes. Opening the framework could draw outside testing and distribute development work, while giving rivals access to the same tools. Visa's lasting edge will depend on its network data and execution.
