Morgan Stanley named NVIDIA its top semiconductor pick, maintaining an Overweight rating and setting a $300 price target. The firm highlighted NVIDIA’s software ecosystem, scale, and positioning across AI infrastructure trends as key strengths. Additionally, NVIDIA’s $150 billion buyback authorization lifted its total remaining repurchase capacity to approximately $235 billion, signaling management confidence. Barclays estimated NVIDIA could generate $401 billion in hyperscaler revenue by 2027, supporting demand for its next-generation systems.
However, there are some cautionary notes. The broader semiconductor sector remains sensitive to interest rates and economic data. Reports suggest Amazon may move $8 billion of NVIDIA chips off its balance sheet, raising questions about AI infrastructure financing. Export-control concerns also persist following allegations of NVIDIA chip smuggling to China.
