VMware Bolsters VCF with Google, Nvidia AI Models for Secure On-Premises Adoption

VMware has expanded its private cloud platform, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), to include popular AI models from Google, Nvidia, NEC, Alibaba Cloud, and Z.ai. The addition of these models enables partners to bring more models on-premises and provide model-as-a-service for customers.

The newest AI models added to VCF include Google's Gemma 4, Nvidia's Nemotron 3, and Z.ai's GLM 5.2 open-source General Language Model. These models are designed to deliver accuracy and efficiency in completing tasks faster, with features such as hybrid Mamba-Transformer MoE architecture and multi-environment reinforcement learning.

Over 150 open-source AI models are now available on VCF, giving customers a broad set of options for their on-premises infrastructure. VMware is committed to providing a secure environment for these models to run in, with hardened agent sandboxes and an end-to-end framework for transitioning from initial AI pilots to fully production-ready AI agents.

The new security innovation also includes an AI-ready data foundation that processes structured and unstructured enterprise data on-site, delivering high-precision context to AI agents. Additionally, a curated marketplace has been launched, allowing developers and agents to safely discover and connect to vetted AI models, tools, and data products.
