Wall Street Analysts Eye High-Yielding Energy Stocks Amid Market Turbulence
Dividend-yielding stocks have become increasingly attractive to investors in times of market turbulence. These companies typically have high free cash flows and reward shareholders with generous dividend payouts.
Patterson-UTI Energy Inc (NASDAQ:PTEN) is one such stock that has caught the attention of Wall Street's most accurate analysts. The company recently posted better-than-expected quarterly earnings, causing its price target to be raised by Barclays analyst Eddie Kim from $15 to $16.
Kim's accuracy rate stands at 50%, but other analysts have also weighed in on PTEN. Susquehanna analyst Charles Minervino maintained a Positive rating and increased the price target from $12 to $13, with an accuracy rate of 78%.
Another energy stock that has piqued the interest of top analysts is Chevron Corp (NYSE:CVX). With a dividend yield of 3.46%, CVX recently reported better-than-expected second-quarter financial results, leading Morgan Stanley analyst Devin McDermott to raise his price target from $210 to $218.
Chord Energy Corp (NASDAQ:CHRD) is also on the radar of top analysts. Despite posting downbeat quarterly results on August 5, Wells Fargo analyst Sam Margolin maintained an Overweight rating and cut the price target from $175 to $163, with an accuracy rate of 77%.
