Walt Disney Family Museum Reprises Eyvind Earle Exhibition
The Walt Disney Family Museum is set to reprise its exhibition on Eyvind Earle's art, this time as 'Awaking Beauty: The Art of Eyvind Earle.' The show runs from October 23, 2026, through April 18, 2027.
This iteration builds upon the museum's 2017 exhibition and offers a fresh perspective on Earle's artistic legacy. The exhibition features around 200 works, including loaned and recently acquired paintings, showcasing his distinctive style that blends medieval tapestries with American landscapes.
Eyvind Earle was known for his work as the color stylist for Walt Disney's classic feature 'Sleeping Beauty' (1959). His contributions to animation earned him the prestigious Disney Legend Award in 2015. Earle's artistic style has influenced generations of artists and designers, including those who worked on 'Pocahontas' (1995) and 'Frozen' (2013).
The exhibition includes interactive activities and audiovisual elements that offer a closer look at some of Earle's work beyond the gallery. Museum Director Kirsten Komoroske said, 'Eyvind Earle's striking and atmospheric style continues to inspire us.' The exhibition will also debut two new gallery spaces.
