Walt Disney's Grandparents' Cemetery in Florida Gets Major Cleanup

A cleanup effort is underway at Ponceannah Cemetery in Paisley, Florida, where Walt Disney's maternal grandparents are buried. The cemetery, which dates back over 150 years, had accumulated a significant amount of trash and debris, including a hot tub. According to Lake County officials, 2,400 pounds of litter were removed from the site, with the U.S. Forest Service, county workers, and volunteers contributing to the effort.

The cleanup was sparked by a GoFundMe campaign set up by Michael Entner, whose wife Valerie was buried at the cemetery in August. The funds raised will be used for regular grounds cleanup, landscaping, and protection of the gravesites to ensure the property remains a dignified resting place.

Ponceannah Cemetery is a historic landmark in Lake County, with Charles and Henrietta Call, Walt Disney's maternal grandparents, buried there since 1890 and 1910 respectively.
