Walt Disney’s The Mouse Plane Opens to Public in Palm Springs
The Walt Disney Archives has unveiled Walt Disney’s personal plane, The Mouse, to the general public for the first time at the Palm Springs Air Museum in California. The Grumman Gulfstream I aircraft, which was on loan to the museum since 2022, was previously only accessible to D23 members for a sneak peek. The restored interior now reflects how it appeared when Walt Disney last flew on board in the 1960s.
Visitors can view the plane during regular museum hours. For a more in-depth experience, exclusive evening tours are available, offering a guided exploration of the aircraft’s interior, light refreshments, and a talk from a special guest speaker with ties to the plane or the Walt Disney Company. These tours are priced at $65 for the general public and $50 for museum members, with each session lasting two hours.
Upcoming guest speakers include Mark Malone & Ed Ovalle (October 17, 2026), Becky Cline (January 16, 2027), a member of the Walt Disney Archives Team (February 20, 2027 & April 3, 2027), and Bob Gurr (March 6, 2027). Tour participants also have the opportunity to purchase merchandise, including a tour-exclusive T-shirt.
