Walton Family Fortunes Plummet by $9.4 Billion as Walmart Stock Continues to Slide
The Walton family's fortunes have taken a hit in 2026 due to Walmart's (NASDAQ:WMT) struggling stock. The heirs of Walmart founder Sam Walton, who own around half of the retail company via Walton Enterprises, have seen their net worth decline significantly.
According to Bloomberg, Jim Walton's net worth has dropped by $2.67 billion year-to-date (YTD), bringing his total down to $134 billion. Rob and Alice Walton also suffered losses, with their net worth decreasing by $2.63 billion and $3.09 billion YTD respectively.
Lukas and Christy Walton, the children of deceased Walmart heir John Walton, have also been affected by the decline in Walmart stock. Lukas's net worth has dropped by $568 million YTD, while Christy's has decreased by $465 million.
The five Waltons have collectively lost $9.4 billion in net worth since the start of 2026, causing them to fall out of the top 10 richest people in the world list.
