Warm Colors Dominate Home Paint Trends
A major shift in paint color trends is underway in American homes, according to a recent report by Samplize, a popular paint-sampling company. Over three years of data from brands like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams shows that warm-toned colors are gaining ground at an incredible rate.
The study reveals that nearly 70% of paint samples sold during the study period fall on the warm end of the color spectrum, with warmer tones outpacing cooler ones by nearly three times. Makenna Lutz, partnerships senior lead at Samplize, notes that 'warm tones are growing faster than cool tones overall,' and points to a significant decline in the number of cool colors included on shopper wishlists.
The report also highlights a trend towards softer earth tones, with 14% of shoppers including at least one earth-toned shade on their shortlist. These muted, weathered stone-inspired colors are seen as cozier and more welcoming than their cooler counterparts.
