Watchdog Calls for Review of Microsoft Contracts Over Shadow Government Concerns

A government watchdog has called on Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin to review Microsoft's contracts due to concerns over the company's hiring of a former FBI official who once described herself as 'basically running a shadow government across the FBI.'

Democracy Restored, a nonpartisan watchdog group, sent a letter to Mullin requesting an examination of Microsoft's existing and pending contracts with the Department of Homeland Security.

The letter asks DHS to assess whether former FBI official Nikki Floris has any role connected to DHS work and take action if security concerns are identified.
