Wayback WED: A Celebration of Disney Parks History

Disney fans will have a unique opportunity to learn about the history of Walt Disney World and meet some of the people who helped create it. The Wayback WED event, presented by WDW News Today, will take place on October 2-3, 2026, at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

The two-day celebration promises to be a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes stories, concept artwork, and rare archival footage. Attendees can expect to hear from former Disney Imagineers, executives, performers, designers, and other influential creatives.

One of the highlight presentations will be 'The Ultimate Journey Into Imagination Reunion, Celebrating the Return of an Old Friend,' which features Tony Baxter, original Dreamfinder performers Ron Schneider and Steve Taylor, and additional participants connected to the beloved EPCOT attraction. Other scheduled presentations include a look at the never-built Disney's America theme park and the history of DisneySea.

Wayback WED promises to be a special weekend for fans who love learning about the creation of Disney Parks. With Imagineering legends, original Walt Disney World cast members, rare archival material, and stories covering everything from Figment to Disney's America, the event will celebrate not only the attractions guests remember but also the creative minds who made those memories possible.
