West Yorkshire Mayor Tours Coca-Cola's Wakefield Factory Amid Counter Cultures Campaign
West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin visited the Wakefield site of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) last week. The visit marked the launch of CCEP's new Counter Cultures campaign, which aims to celebrate the people and businesses behind Britain's food and drinks industry.
The Wakefield site is Europe's largest soft drinks facility by volume and directly employs 600 people, including 27 apprentices. CCEP has invested £103m in operations at the site since 2019.
During her visit, Brabin met with Katharine Duncan, Wakefield site director for CCEP, who highlighted the community spirit of the team. The Mayor also saw how technology is shaping the future of manufacturing, meeting Spot, a robotic inspection dog developed by Boston Dynamics.
