WestJet Warns Boeing of 737 MAX Software Glitch Before FAA Approval

WestJet Airlines informed Boeing about a software glitch in the 737 MAX before the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) cleared it, according to a memo.

The memo was obtained by Reuters and suggests that WestJet may have been aware of the issue earlier than previously thought.

The FAA has faced criticism for its handling of the 737 MAX's certification process after two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019.
