WHATMORE: The Unlikely Rise of New York's Hottest Music Group

The five-member group WHATMORE has been making waves in the music scene with their unique sound and style. Born and bred in New York City, the members - Cisco Swank, Elijah Judah, Jackson August, Yoshi T., and Sebastiano - met while attending LaGuardia High School, where they were classically trained on instruments such as saxophone and trombone.

After years of performing together on solo shows and flipping tracks, WHATMORE finally released their first official track in 2018. The group's sound is a fusion of different genres, with influences from hip-hop, R&B, and indie rock.

The members come from diverse backgrounds, but share a common thread - they are all New York City natives who have been shaped by the city's grind mentality. Sebastiano grew up in a working-class neighborhood to an immigrant father and an artist mother, while Cisco's parents met in church and instilled in him a love of music.

Despite their rising fame, the group remains humble and true to their roots. They still drive themselves on tour and can often be found grabbing dim sum at Modern Shanghai or hanging out in a Lower East Side parking garage.
