Who Else Makes GPUs? Nvidia-Amd Duopoly Faces Competition from Intel and Moore Threads
Nvidia and AMD dominated the desktop graphics card market in the first half of 2026, shipping around 98% of all cards sold.
This leaves a small but growing niche for alternative GPU makers. Two contenders stand out: Intel's Arc brand and Moore Threads, a Chinese company founded by former Nvidia executive Zhang Jianzhong.
Intel sells boxed retail discrete GPUs under the Arc brand, which offers decent performance at competitive prices. However, Intel's shipment share remains low, around 2% in Q2 2026.
