Why Nvidia Stands Out Amid Market Leaders
The three largest companies in the world by market capitalization are Nvidia ($5.4 trillion), Apple ($4.6 trillion), and Alphabet ($4 trillion), according to recent data.
Nvidia's dominance is largely due to its high demand for GPU computing units, particularly from AI hyperscalers who are spending hundreds of billions on data center capital expenditures this year alone.
Alphabet is also a major player in the field, with estimated $200 billion spent on data center capital expenditures this year. Its AI platform and Google Cloud division have seen significant growth, with Alphabet projected to grow 23% in 2027.
However, Apple's growth case is less certain, as it must continue to sell tech hardware to a stretched consumer while dealing with rising component prices and lack of headway on AI products.
The market's valuation of Apple is also questioned, as the company has maintained a premium over other stocks despite expecting slower growth next year.
