Wildfire Resilience Stocks: Honeywell Leads, Sampo Warns
Honeywell International and Siemens Limited are among three companies that could benefit from increasing investment in wildfire resilience and climate adaptation. Honeywell, a global automation and energy technology company, supplies control systems, sensors, safety gear, and software for factories, refineries, commercial buildings, and critical infrastructure. Its products include fire detection and building security solutions, making it well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for smarter, safer, and lower-carbon infrastructure.
Siemens Limited, a technology company based in Mumbai, supplies equipment and software for power grids, smart buildings, factory automation, and rail transport. It has strong exposure to wildfire resilience through its building technologies, fire safety systems, and grid equipment that can support more resilient cities and industrial sites.
However, Sampo Oyj, an insurer based in Helsinki, may be a warning sign for investors looking at wildfire resilience. The company offers a solid 20.3% return on equity (ROE), but its dividend is not well-covered by free cash flow. Rising wildfire risk threatens claims costs and could pressure earnings growth.
