Windows 10 Update Causes Copilot to Crash File Explorer

A Windows 10 update has caused problems for one user, who found that every time they clicked on a file, Copilot would automatically be triggered and begin running in the background. This resulted in frequent crashes of File Explorer, with logs showing Microsoft Edge as the culprit.

The update was KB5126256, described by Microsoft as a licensing preparation package for ESU (Extended Security Updates) that shouldn't have changed anything else.

Despite not launching Copilot manually, the user says it kept getting triggered every time a file was clicked on. The crashes only occurred when File Explorer crashed, not individual folders.
